Shakira shakes it up as a completely hot gazelle in Disney’s ‘Zootopia’
Worldwide superstar Shakira is lending her Grammy®-winning voice to Gazelle, the biggest pop star in Zootopia, D23 EXPO fans learned via a taped message from Shakira today. Disney came up with their original concepts of places like the Sahara Square for jungle-loving type, Tundratown, which has coolers on the sidewalk, Little Rodentia, and the Burrows, for bunnies, from the D23 expo. The announcement shared that Shakira will be part of Zootopia’s soundtrack.
She tweeted an image of the sultry character Friday. She also recorded the new song “Try Everything” for the film. Shakira is joining a star-powered voice cast that already includes awful Bosses’ Jason Bateman (who will play a wily, smooth-talking fox character) and One Upon A Time’s Ginnifer Goodwin (who will play a straight-laced meter-maid bunny character by the name of Judy). “You fall in love with her [Goodwin’s] character instantly”.
In the animal city of Zootopia, a fast-talking fox who’s trying to make it big goes on the run when he’s framed for a crime he didn’t commit. The animated movie also stars Alan Tudyk.
“Zootopia” is directed by Byron Howard and Rich Moore and produced by Clark Spencer.
Shakira does have some acting credits, though she has really only starred as herself. Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Zootopia” opens nationwide March 4, 2016.
