Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn Is Revealed
Retired NBA player Shaquille “Shaq” O’Neal has promised everyone a “surprised” at Thursday’s Game Awards night.
A new teaser trailer for Shaq-Fu: A Legend Reborn has been released online. Although there isn’t much in-game content to sift through, the action shown on screen indicates a game that is at least mechanically superior to its predecessor.
The title is being crowdfunded on IndieGoGo and made $458,884 (£303,013) in donations from 1,339 backers. It was terrible, but its absurd concept resonated with gamers enough to get them to fund a reboot. It’s a modern day take on the classic beat ’em up. You’ll play as Shaquille O’Neal and learn “hundreds” of moves and battle techniques to take on enemies and bosses in dynamic arenas.

The original Shaq-Fu was recently spoofed on the ABC Family sitcom Fresh Off The Boat.
Shaq Fu was originally stated as coming to PC, PS4, PS3, Xbox One, Xbox 360 and Wii U. It’s not clear if that’s still the plan.
