Shares of Candy Crush-maker King are crashing
King Digital Entertainment plc(KING – Snapshot Report), the maker of the popular game Candy Crush, reported second-quarter 2015 adjusted earnings of 41 cents per share (including share-based and other equity-related compensation expenses).
Although their contribution to King Digital’s revenue is expected to be relatively low, their performance would allow analysts and investors to judge how well the company’s ongoing strategy to diversify its product offerings was working out. There are consensus estimates of $0.42 in EPS and $489.05 in revenue for the third quarter as well.
King Digital said it expects gross bookings of $460 million to $485 million in the current quarter, compared with $544 million a year earlier. This dive comes as the company reported its Q2 results, where it generated $500 million in revenues, which beat Wall Street estimates of approximately $490 million.
Several research firms recently issued reports on KING.
King Digital Entertainment plc (NYSE:KING) has received a short term rating of hold from research analysts at Zacks with a rank of 3.
King Digital isn’t the only gaming firm to hit the skids.
King shares are down $1.10, or 7%, at $14.10. Zacks cut King Digital Entertainment PLC from a “buy” rating to a “hold” rating in a research report on Friday, July 10th.
Total cost and expenses declined 11% from the year-ago quarter to $336.7 million.
Many analysts have commented on the company rating. King Digital Entertainment plc is up 1.4% in the last 3-month period.
