Shark Eats Shark In Aquarium Attack
In the video, the tiger shark is seen with the tail of the smaller banded shark hanging out of its mouth after eating it.
The eight-year-old female shark, the largest in the aquarium at about seven feet long, is said to have slowly eaten the smaller five-year-old male shark.
The carnage was captured on video as the female shark swam around the aquarium’s undersea tunnel in front of guests. It’s a turf war out there, ladies, and Mama Shark here doesn’t have time to f*** with male bravado.
This act of shark cannibalism likely was the result of the sharks bumping into one another.
An aquarium official told Reuters, “Sharks have their own territories”.
The attacker feasted on her five-year-old tank mate for 21 hours, before appearing with just the tip of his tail dangling from her mouth. It should, however, regurgitate, unable to fully digest, but the process “could take almost a week”, according to the same specialist. I think the shark swallowed the whole body, because they usually eat it all when they bite the head part, ‘ said PR manager of COEX aquarium, Oh Tae-youp.
There are 40 other sharks, two turtles, and 20 sting rays that share the tank.
