Sharna Burgess’ ‘DWTS’ Blog: My Dreams Came True, Thanks To Nick Carter
“That was the year my life changed forever”, he told Us Weekly. Before commanding the stage with Sharna Burgess on last night’s Dancing with the Stars, Backstreet Boys member Nick Carter took the emotional route and revealed a few of the personal, family-related battles he faced growing up. The theme of tonight’s show is “Most Memorable Year”, and Carter chose that year because it’s when he met the rest of his bandmates, A.J., Brian, Kevin, and Howie. Here’s this week’s blog, by Sharna, exclusive for HollywoodLife.
“I came from a dysfunctional family”. Carter tearfully said he tried to fix his family and help them become a “dream” family, but the Backstreet Boys’ member couldn’t achieve that goal. I never could’ve imagined at 13 years old when I was standing there after school copying the Backstreet Boys choreography to “Everybody”, that all these years later I would be on Dancing With The Stars dancing with a Backstreet Boy (with a few of the Backstreet Boys in the audience!) and dancing to that very same song. Given that the votes from last week are carrying over to this show, we have a hard time imagining that they are going to do that again with a non-elimination.
As many BSB fans know, Nick’s childhood was not all that great thanks to a broken family. And I didn’t get that. Nick said that their support – along with fans – carried him through, according to Us Weekly.
Of course, come back every week for more from Nick and Sharna!
