Sheena murder: Khanna’s confession, Mikhail’s proof
Suggesting a pre-planned conspiracy, police have said Indrani had recceed Pen area with her driver to pick the exact spot to dispose of her body a day before the actual killing. The Police Commissioner also claimed that had been given some points by Mikhail which the police will check.
Public Prosecutor Laxman Rathod said police needed to know how Sheena was killed, the vehicle in which she was murdered before her body was burnt and dumped in forests near Pen in Raigad district, adjacent to Mumbai. Suddenly, she’s been charged with murdering her daughter Sheena three years ago (who was first strangulated and then disposed off in Raigad, her body set aflame), and whom she introduced to her husband as her sister her whole life.
According to police, Sheena and media baron Peter’s son from an earlier marriage, Rahul, were dating for over a year which their family did not like. Sheena told Indrani about all the facts including her pregnancy.
“We had kept our report ready by December 2013, but only today the Khar police approached us asking for the samples to be returned to them, which were in our possession and as per the request, we have handed over them to the police”.
Sanghvi said that Indrani wanted to become a media baroness and she said “absurd things”. “There was no question of not believing my wife”. “She is very powerful and she can do anything she wants”, he told reporters here. “He was served an arrest memo and was brought to Alipore police station”, he said. I will wait till she (Indrani Mukherjea) confesses it in front of the police.
Shocked at the turn of events, but offering his full cooperation to the authorities, Peter has given his statement saying “I have never experienced anything like this before”. Mikhail also produced some evidence at the Khar police station in connection with the murder mystery. A dispute over control of the money placed in Sheena Bora’s accounts may have led to arguments with Indrani Mukerjea and Bora’s death, Indian papers allege.
“I was blindsided by my love for my wife, ” Mukerjea said in an interview with the Times Now television channel. More arrests may follow.
Mikhail, travelling by a commercial flight, was accompanied by a friend and a police team from Mumbai who had come to Guwahati to question him about his mother’s alleged involvement in the killing of his elder sister.
Chief Judicial Magistrate, Alipore Court, Rajesh Chakraborty accepted the remand prayer of Mumbai Police and directed it to produce him before a designated Mumbai court by September one.
