SHOCKING: 10th Video Catches Planned Parenthood: We Sell “Fresh” Aborted Baby
“Planned Parenthood facilities provide other services, like cervical and breast cancer screenings and primary health care, to millions of low-income women, and it’s those services that would be curtailed by cutting off federal funding to Planned Parenthood“, the statement says. “This could destroy your organization and us, if we don’t time those conversations correctly”. She goes on to explain that Planned Parenthood shouldn’t be “bullied by ridiculous laws and this media that doesn’t understand the big picture”.
Planned Parenthood has denied any wrong-doing and has accused an anti-abortion group of selectively editing the videos.
It’s also worth noting that Deb VanderHei’s primary concern in her meeting with the “buyer” is “remuneration” – in other words, payment. “And if you decide that you want to engage in remuneration, that you really think that through”. Planned Parenthood officials have defended the clinics, saying they follow the law. Twenty-two percent believe it is more important for Congress to eliminate funding to Planned Parenthood, mired in controversy after undercover videos suggested the non-profit organization acted illegally in selling fetal tissue for profit to researchers.
In the video, Deborah VanDerhei, the national director of the organization’s Consortium of Abortion Providers, describes the harvesting of fetal body parts as “donation for remuneration”. Carolyn Westhoff, the group’s senior medical adviser, recognizes “the potential for a huge PR issue in doing this”.
Dent, a Republican from Allentown, told The Morning Call that he’s offering a bill that would only redirect federal funding from the Planned Parenthood clinics that have sold fetal tissue.
The latest video shows a number of Planned Parenthood officials discussing how issues around the use of fetal tissue could become a public relations problem for the organization.
Dozens of conservatives in the House and Senate have already pledged not to vote for a spending bill that includes money for Planned Parenthood.
“This measure that I am proposing with some colleagues is much more targeted and measured”, Dent told the New York Times. However, a number of states and congressional committees are conducting investigations into the abortion giant’s practices. “Certainly, everything we provide-oh, gonads!” In fact, GOP lawmakers are arguably in a weaker position now – in part because Republicans are more divided among themselves than they were in 2013, and in part because they’re basing the shutdown plan on opposition to Planned Parenthood, which is actually quite popular with the American mainstream.
The House of Representatives will vote on a bill by Republican Diane Black that would strip Planned Parenthood of its federal funding for one year. Besides VanDerhei and Westhoff, Daleiden also captured on camera Vanessa Russo, Planned Parenthood Keystone’s compliance program administrator, and Vanessa Cullins, Planned Parenthood’s vice president for external medical affairs.
Later this week, the House is likely to approve a bill blocking Planned Parenthood’s money for a year.
