Shocking footage shows nursery worker ‘attacking little boy as he sleeps’
Authorities arrested a day care director and charged her with assaulting a child after cameras caught the suspected abuse.
The worker who reported the alleged abuse used a cell phone to film the incident.
According to police, the video, which was taken by another daycare worker, shows Children’s Palace Learning Center director Kimberly Reid repeatedly hitting a 4-year-old boy with stuffed animals and even dropping him.
Kimberly Marie Reid, 41, had been abusing the boy over a three-week period, claim investigators after speaking with a co-worker who filmed the incident.
She is the seen lifting the boy up by his arms and legs before tossing him back on the floor.
The Department of Children and Families website provides information about daycare centers in the city, including inspection reports. Her nursery will now be shut down.
Erin Razo, a member of the Clermont Police Department, told WESH Orlando: “I don’t know why anybody would do something like this to a child”. Reid is then seen in the footage picking the child up a few feet into the air and then dropping him onto a mat. Based on Orange County court records, she was sentenced to five years probation and was ordered to complete 150 hours of community service.
According to Reid’s arrest affidavit, the woman told police she was just playing rough with the child.
