One student reported hearing four gunshots, while another student, speaking to Nice Matin (in French), described hearing three loud bangs before turning and seeing a shooter.
Local police told people on Twitter to stay home and the area around the school has been cordoned off.

The BBC has reported that the Tocqueville school in the French town of Grasse has been stormed by individuals carrying arms. Officials are still trying to determine whether there are any casualties.
Grasse, a centre for perfume manufacturing, is roughly 44km from Nice, where a terror attack in July of past year killed 86 people.
