Shooting at Northern Arizona University
Police are blocking off the intersection of 89th and Wornall Road early Sunday night while investigating a deadly crash involving a motorcycle. School public relations director Cindy Brown says the suspected shooter is in custody.
The incident occurred Thursday morning near a parking lot off of Carroll Street. “Our hearts are heavy”.
The gate to the dorm’s main entrance was closed on Friday, and police had the surrounding area taped off. Student Maria Gonzalez told that she at first suspected firecrackers.
On its website, the university said that the campus was stabilized and the campus was not on lockdown.
Police say two other teenage males on bikes shot the victim – he is in serious condition at Upstate University Hospital and is expected to survive.
On Friday, police said their investigation and interviews with residents leads investigators to believe a mountain lion killed the dog.
