Shooting, stabbing reported in Brookline; schools locked down
Police in Brookline, Massachusetts, are investigating after three men, believed to be in their 20s, were injured Wednesday in a shooting and stabbing.
O’Leary said that the incident began around 11:50 a.m. Wednesday when officers responded to a disturbance on St. Paul Street. All three were in “stable” condition yesterday afternoon, police say.
One Witness told WBZ-TV’s Chantee Lans she saw the auto dump two bodies on Harvard Street. Those two men were both stabbed, and one had been shot.
“It is very rare that this happens, but by the same token we’re ready for things like this”, O’Leary said at the press conference.
Police are now looking for the two other people who were inside the vehicle, a Ford Focus with NY license plate GYR3714.
After officers arrived at the scene, multiple calls came in reporting that two bodies were on the street in front of Brookline Spa at 75 Harvard Street.
Police are also determining whether another suspect fled on foot, he said.
Brookline Police said the Amos A. Lawrence, Pierce Elementary, and St. Mary’s Schools were placed on lockdown. Those schools were dismissed at their usual time and people are advised to avoid Harvard Street.
