Shoppers traded bricks for clicks on Monday, flocking online to snap up “Cyber Monday” deals on everything from cashmere sweaters to Star Wars toys.
By midday, total e-commerce sales are up 13.3 percent year-over-year, which is slightly below the 15 percent growth rate expected by ChannelAdvisor.
The year is coming to an end, thus marking the beginning of another season of shopping bonanzas.
Rob Fenton, UK MD of business data agency fifty-five, said: “Cyber Monday struggles to attract such a devoted level of attention among British shoppers”.
In terms of safety online, it’s actually statistically safer to shop at home with a credit card than to use it at the mall, but there are still things to look for to make sure your purchases are secure. “Having so many different ways to browse and shop on retail sites will have played a part as well, with £495m being spent on smartphones and tablets on Black Friday”.
