Shoppers line up at Mayfair Mall for Black Friday shopping

Black Friday, which traditionally is the biggest shopping day of the year, nearly looked like a normal shopping day.

Thousands of shoppers showed up for the pre-Black Friday madness, most were on a mission and knew exactly what they were after.

Many shoppers arrived with wheeled luggage bags, or bought them at the mall.

Two men kicked off Black Friday with an all out brawl in a Kentucky mall. A lot of excited shoppers, many of whom are out-of-town visitors, said they aim to take advantage of doorbuster deals.

– The state of Kentucky gets a black eye for already having the worst fight of Black Friday 2015. And if you waited till 9 p.m. for that trek to Toys R Us, you needed a miracle to get that special doll your granddaughter had been begging for.

With big crowds both on Thanksgiving and Black Friday, some stores started running out of deals.

Shoppers at the Ohio Valley Mall saw the doors open earlier in the day on Thanksgiving for their “Rock the Mall Event”.

Best Buy was one store that did have a line Friday morning. Some people we spoke to are really turned off by businesses opening up on Thanksgiving and they don’t want to support the new holiday tradition. As for what people are buying, NRF says clothing is king this year, with electronics not far behind.

“I was asking where all the people were”, she said. People came out pushing shopping carts with an array of items ranging from last-minute dinner additions to bulky electronic goods.

BrandsMart will remain open until 2 a.m. and will reopen several hours later.
