Bashers of Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday shopping will never understand, the diehards insisted.
“There are fantastic deals still”.
“A lot of them are here for like health and fitness, mobiles been a big thing for us, you know the cell phones, of course, TVs”, said Jennifer Padilla, the Assistant Store Manager of Sales at Best Buy. While the incoming bad weather may be the worst part in waiting outside the store to take advantage of Best Buy Black Friday deals, people said it is fun to simply hang out and talk with everyone else.
Best Buy could have sold more of its Toshiba 49-inch TVs for $149 on Thanksgiving Day.

Cielo Vista Mall in east El Paso is ready for thousands of people who will pour in this weekend, but Black Friday got off to a calm start. “There’s not that much to do on a rainy day”, Javaid said. So we actually open up at 5 a.m. with some door busters. Doors opened at 6 a.m. and in came the carts, pushed by cold people looking for hot deals. “I just thought hopefully something’s open”.
“Yeah, we got free Star Wars tickets”, Prince said.

Some stores avoid opening on Thanksgiving are now emphasizing the fact that they don’t open on the holiday to help differentiate themselves, she said. In its circulars distributed in newspapers on Thanksgiving, the company displayed a prominent message to customers: “As a family-owned company, Menards believes Thanksgiving is a time for togetherness, which should be celebrated with all those we hold dear”.
