Shot fired into Sydney restaurant
Between 30 and 40 customers and staff were in the restaurant at the time, however nobody was injured. However, nobody was injured, according to local police.
Mother-of-one Sara Limbu and her family were celebrating her husband’s birthday inside Wigram Street eatery Billu’s Restaurant at around 9pm yesterday, when a bullet pierced the window, and lodged in a nearby shelf.
“The frightening thing with this is that the shot that was fired… was in a particular part of the restaurant which was extremely busy”, he said.
The police is now seeking assistance of anyone who saw the man come forward, particularly a woman, who was almost knocked to the ground by him near the pedestrian crossing on the Wigram Street.
Investigators believe the shot was fired by someone on foot, and are searching for a man wearing a blue tracksuit who was spotted running from the scene shortly after the incident.
The gunman fired a single shot through the front window of Billu’s Indian Eatery.
A masked gunman opened fire on a business across the road from the restaurant back in April, while less than two weeks ago a nearby hairdresser’s was set ablaze in a suspected arson attack. They were also interviewing the staff and the customers present in the restaurant. “It is scary and police is probing the incident”, Singh said.
