Shot in Charlotte Robbery, Police Chase Over 2 Counties
After two suspects fled the scene in a vehicle, officers chased them into Catawba County, where the suspects crashed.
One of the people in the truck was injured, and the officers are all believed to be OK.
When CMPD officers tried to arrest the suspects, one person took out a gun and refused to drop it, officials said.
Officers fired at the suspect who was hit several times.
Early details were sketchy, but according to a CMPD statement sent to local media, the incident began early Wednesday when offers were dispatched to Brook Canyon Drive and W.T. Harris Boulevard in southeast Charlotte, where two robbery victims had been shot.
After the crash, gunfire was exchanged before the suspects were taken into custody and taken to an area hospital.
The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. on E. W.T. Harris Boulevard at Brook Canyon Drive. The chase ended when the truck wrecked near the intersection of Buffalo Shoals Road and Highway 16.
