Shot Near Golden State Warriors Celebration
It may have been just the brightness of the day, but many still appeared to be in disbelief.
As soon as the parade ended, a rally started at the city’s convention center.
According to Nielsen, the 2015 NBA Finals averaged 19.939 million viewers over the six games series, which featured a brilliant and deep Golden State team overcoming James’s superhuman performance for Cleveland. Local CBS reports Friday’s parade will air live on TV through KPIX 5.
This much is certain: When they get the right pieces, the Suns need to focus on maintaining good health. The youthful starting lineup of the Warriors became the best in the league on both ends of the floor en route to a league leading 67-15 record during the regular season.
How could you beat them? She and her son Ryan, 11, used chalk to write “Go, Warriors!” all over the family’s Ford Flex. “That could have been my driving, though”.
More than two hours after the celebration began, a shooting erupted just outside a zone that had been secured for the parade and rally, Watson said. For his part, Iguodala thanked the fans for their support during the season. “Then it got weird”.
“We never asked for sympathy when they went down”, said Coach David Blatt.
The Warriors are one of a kind. The streets of Oakland were hardly recognizable on Friday. The New Orleans Pelicans can attest to that – in Game 3 of the first round, they actually did watch their 20-point fourth-quarter lead disintegrate by the flame-throwing hands of Curry. Lee played the fewest minutes per game (18.4) this year since his rookie season and but didn’t complain or become an in-house distraction. But he refused to give up. “Now we’re world champs and I’m known as Riley’s dad”.
Razon Tramble of Castro Valley lined up at 7 a.m.to get a view of the parade. “It shines a good light on the city”. “It’s usually for something negative”.
The rally comes in a city that has been plagued by a number of problems. Violent protests over police shootings thrust Oakland into the national spotlight late a year ago.
Perhaps most gratifying of all is that those long-suffering Warriors fans in Oakland did as their team asked: They celebrated the victory Tuesday night with joy – and largely without violence. One fan strolled around holding a boa constrictor around her neck, while another brought a Shetland Pony to the party. “The defense was suspect more than anything and just shaky characters I mean look at these guys”. Curry mentioned going unrecognized when he walked along the lake in those days. It changed everything and for that alone he more than earned his jewelry. As things progressed, his personal limitations made him less relevant, especially in this season’s iteration.
Oakland resident Luis Yanez can relate.
