Shots fired at East Towne Mall
Police are still searching for the gunman who shot one person at Madison’s East Towne Mall Saturday afternoon.
Eye witnesses said couple of young men were seen in a dispute in the heart of the mall at the intersects of two major wings.

“At no time was this an active shooter randomly shooting at people in the mall”, Despain added.
Police said a ricocheting bullet struck the pant leg of a mall employee, but the person was not injured. “At no point was this an act of terrorism”.
Joel DeSpain, a spokesman for the Madison police said police were still looking for a suspect.
Madison Police spokesperson Officer David Dexheimer says the shooting happened around 2:50 p.m. off center court near the food court area.
A reporter with WMTV, an NBC affiliate, posted a photo of the scene on Twitter of shoppers gathered outside the mall.
A message on the site reads, “the mall is temporarily closed due to a safety concern”.
A 911 dispatcher says shots were fired at the East Towne Mall in Madison, Wisconsin.
