Shovel Knight amiibo gets release date, price, more details
The NFC figure, which is the third being made by a third party for the Nintendo 3DS and Wii U, will help people dig themselves out of trouble in Europe starting December 11.
As announced on the Yacht Club Games site, the Shovel Knight amiibo will be launching in Europe first, with a release date of December 11 and a cost of €14.99 or £10.99.
With its 8-bit graphics and emphasis on hard-as-nails platforming, Yacht Club Games’ Shovel Knight seemed like a lost gem from the NES.
Additionally, YCG reassured fans that the amiibo will be easy to buy and will be available with abundant stock. Your knight will be playable on both Nintendo platforms, which handily means they’ll be compatible with the Wii U exclusive co-op mode, which is also unlocked by the amiibo. It would have been possible to release him before Christmas, but it would have been a smaller amount than they would have liked.
Shovel Knight players can level up to 50 by finding treasure, find new relics and abilities, as well as customize Shovel Knight with cosmetic options.
For those of you that think Amiibo are soulless pieces of plastic, that offer little in terms of in-game content, Yacht Club Games has certainly got you covered on this one. Most importantly, the Wii U version of the game exclusively will be getting cooperative multiplayer, which looks great.
