Sia fans in Isreal sue her over “lacklustre, impersonal” performance
Yikes! Sia Furler’s team is reportedly being sued by her own fans following a less than stellar concert.
Sia has apparently responded to a lawsuit from fans in Israel who claim her recent gig there was so bad that they want a refund.
As The Jerusalem Post reports, the suit was supposedly filed on Monday, 15th August, and cites claims that Sia only played for 65 minutes, and that her onstage banter was “impersonal” because she supposedly didn’t mention being in Tel Aviv or Israel. (You’d think Sia fans would know that’s her deal by now, though!) Some fans who couldn’t see what was going on tried watching the screens on the sides of the stage, but those screens showed prerecorded video of Sia and Kristen Wiig, not the performance as it was happening.
What makes this case so interesting, however, is that Sia didn’t leave any songs out of the scheduled performance… she simply refrained from adding any unnecessary banter to the show – something to which most music fans have become accustomed.
Taking to Twitter earlier today (August 19), Sia wrote: “This euro tour has been awesome”.
“I put everything I have into my show – it’s abstract for sure, but I’m singing my heart out live and every moment is purely intentional”.
Sia herself has yet to comment on the lawsuit, though her concert Ilan Elkayam issued a statement to IQ Magazine regarding Sia’s fans suing the star, claiming that the Tel Aviv concert was “extremely successful” and also noted that the suing fans’ lawsuit was not aimed directly at Sia herself.
The promoter revealed earlier this week (beg15Aug16) he had not received the lawsuit and insisted Sia would not be named among the defendants. We have received hundreds of comments from satisfied fans who thoroughly enjoyed the performance and production.
