Sian Blake case: Watchdog probes police decision-making
They had been reported missing in December, People magazine noted.
The remains of the 43-year-old British soap actress and her sons, 8-year-old Zachary and 4-year-old Amon, were discovered in the garden of their Erith home on Tuesday.
Post-mortem examinations indicated that the three died as a result of head and neck injuries.
The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) inquiry came after it emerged that the Metropolitan police received a tip-off from children’s charity the NSPCC, reportedly alleging domestic abuse.
“Broadly, that information expressed concerns about Sian Blake’s health and the nature of the relationship between Sian Blake, her children and Arthur Simpson-Kent”, says Scotland Yard.
Blake’s sister told a press conference on Thursday: “I want him to face justice and explain why. It’s my two nephews more than anything”.
Scotland Yard said: “Detectives investigating the triple murder of a mother and her sons from Erith, have today confirmed that formal identification has taken place”. The photos of him in Accra were reportedly taken three days after this.
“I don’t know what is going through his mind”.
Police are still searching for Mr Simpson-Kent who was last seen after speaking to police on the same day and is believed to have fled to Ghana.
Sian Blake, who voiced Yugiri in Square Enix‘s Final Fantasy XIV and appeared in British drama EastEnders, was found dead with her two children this week in London, the BBC reports.
She believes Arthur Simpson-Kent is to blame for her sister’s murder. The 42-year-old left acting shortly after receiving a Motor Neuron Disease diagnosis, an ailment she shares with the famous scientist Stephen Hawking. I can see everything in the garden but these last few days I have chosen not to look.
The 43 year old actress had been reported missing since December 13 and all of a sudden it was revealed that she had actually been murdered alongside her two sons.
Police sniffer dogs led officers to the bodies at the house in Erith, Kent, where “significant attempts” had been made to hide them, Scotland Yard said.
Outside of the gaming industry, Sian Blake was well known for playing the role of Frankie Pierre in the popular show EastEnders. The soap opera focusing on an East London neighborhood has run since 1985.
