The 23-year-old Thitiphun, who is seeking a first win on the Asian Tour, stormed home in 29 following a brilliant round which included eight birdies at the Macau Golf and Country Club.
Another Indian, Rashid Khan scored 68 to share the fourth spot with Australian Sam Brazel (69) on 203 as total after 54 holes.
“I told myself to take it easy and to protect my back”. I was relaxed and enjoyed the day. I’ve taken out as much stress out of my shots as possible. “I changed my attitude. I knew they had to shoot a good score to catch me”. “I played okay on the front nine but on the back nine, it was a bit tough”.
World number 39 Lahiri accumulated an eagle, four birdies and two bogeys to stay on track to successfully defend his title. The Delhi golfer dropped a shots on the 16th.
“It leaves a bad taste in the mouth”. “I think I played well, pretty similar to yesterday. But the couple of times I missed the fairway, I found a few hard lies in the rough”, the Bengalurean added. But if I can putt like today, it’s okay. Past year I managed to chase him down. “Hopefully I don’t make these silly mistakes”, he said. If I had dropped two or three of those, I won’t have felt too awful. “But I can have a good feel”. I’m not feeling good.

Among the big names who failed to make it to the final 36 holes were four-time Major victor Ernie Els of South Africa and two-time champion Zhang Lian-wei of China.
132 – HUNG Chien-yao (TPE) 68-64. Lahiri and Kumar shared second place after closing with a 66 and 65 respectively.
