Signing Diego Costa would be ‘complicated’, admits
Atletico Madrid have distanced themselves with reports suggesting they are ready to bring Chelsea striker Diego Costa back to the club, according to the Evening Standard.
The Spanish global has struggled for form this season and has recently been linked with a return to Atletico Madrid.
Rodriguez has had his eye on a move to England since before he joined Los Blancos and, although Chelsea are now struggling in the Premier League in 14th, James reportedly wants to link up with Jose Mourinho at the end of the season, where he will be hoping to spark the Blues into life.
“The fans are being absolutely unbelievable with us”, he said. “I always wish Atletico the best and always follow them and support them from afar”.
“When you are champions and winning matches, you wave, you share the emotion with the people”.
“I don’t see that as a problem”.
But as Chelsea have imploded in the Premier League, sitting 14th and 14 points short of the top-four following eight defeats in 15 games, Costa has found the net only four times in 19 games.
“This season it is more hard to say this player is being magnificent”.
The former Arsenal skipper has witnessed a dramatic loss in form this year after he played an instrumental part in delivering Mourinho’s third title at Stamdford Bridge last year, but the Portuguese says he is not alone in underperforming this term.
“I remember I said something like that when I first came here, that I think I did enough to deserve to be here [the “Special One” speech]”.
By his own admission, the Brazil-born Spain striker has not played well for Chelsea this season.
