Six dead after shooting spree in MI; suspect was an Uber driver

Authorities previously reported that seven people had been killed in the shooting incidents, but Getting said a 14-year-old girl shot at a Cracker Barrel restaurant did not die.
A suspected mass-murderer is in custody after a series of random shootings that have left six dead and two others other critically wounded across Kalamazoo County, Michigan.
A man has been arrested after a gunman reportedly drove around the MI city of Kalamazoo randomly shooting people. Five people in two separate cars were shot, Michigan State Police Lt. Dale Hinz told WOOD. After a few seconds of talking, the gunman “unloaded his weapon into both cars”, Matyas said. According to prosecutors she was clinging to life on Sunday morning.
Shortly before 2:30 a.m. ET Sunday morning, police announced a possible suspect was apprehended without incident in downtown Kalamazoo, fitting the description of the person who committed the random shootings.
Police are at the scene of the fourth shooting, the Kalamazoo County undersheriff told 24 Hour News 8. The woman said Dalton sped through stop signs and into oncoming traffic, and refused to stop when they pleaded with him, the Kalamazoo Gazette reported. People at the hotel said the passengers dropped off there were interviewed by police. One semi-automatic gun was found in his vehicle.
Police say the rampage began around 6 PM outside an apartment complex where a woman was shot multiple times.

Getting said Dalton would likely appear in court for an arraignment Monday afternoon.
According to a statement released by Uber, Dalton did pass a background check.
Authorities continue to question Dalton to determine a motive.
Police described the suspect as a 50-year-old white male, driving a dark blue or silver Chevy HHR SUV.
“There’s no common denominator with any of these”, Matyas said.
State police said today that the four people killed in the Cracker Barrel parking lot were: Mary Lou Nye, 62, of Baroda, Mich.; Mary Jo Nye, 60, of Battle Creek, Mich.; Dorothy Brown, 74, of Battle Creek, Mich.; and Barbara Hawthorne, 68, of Battle Creek, Mich.
