Six injured in West Bank car, knife attacks

Hundreds of combat troops guard about 850 Jewish settlers in the center of Hebron where they live amid tens of thousands of Palestinians.

“Allah has given me a new baby and I’ve named him ‘Knife of Jerusalem, ‘ after the Intifada of the Knives”, the baby’s father proudly declared in a television interview translated by Middle East Media Research Institute. It overlooks the Western Wall, the holiest place on earth for Jews. The video was later posted online (WARNING: Disturbing footage). The al-Aqsa [Mosque] is ours, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre is ours, and they have no right to defile them with their filthy feet. Israel has struggled to respond to the random attacks, with the army responding by using tough security measures.

“This city has settlers inside it, and it is surrounded by settlements, it’s a unique situation, while the Israeli military forces are everywhere”, Salam Muharam, a field officer with MFS in Hebron, told Mondoweiss.
