Sixers’ Markelle Fultz opens up about playing with Ben Simmons, Joel Embiid
With Fultz adding his scoring proficiency alongside the pass-first Simmons and Embiid, the Sixers are hoping their painstaking “Process” finally takes the next step into the postseason.
The No. 1 overall pick in this National Basketball Association draft has become an instant fan favorite before signing his rookie contract. This June, Fultz joined the party.
It’s a good thing that Markelle Fultz, wizened enough about Philadelphia to name Larry’s as his cheesesteak choice, is excited about joining the 76ers as the No. 1 pick in Thursday’s National Basketball Association draft. However, when he slipped to Charlotte, their positional need made complete sense when they picked the 19-year-old volume shooter. Just ask their newest franchise player. If Fultz’ prediction comes true and Philly returns to the postseason in 2018, he should receive a nickname of his own: “The Result”. “We’re gonna try and turn it around this year, that’s the goal. I’ve been through a lot growing up, and I’m just looking forward to coming to this city and giving it my all”. When he heard the news that he was working out for the Sixers, Fultz’s first thought was about fast-food chicken sandwiches. “I’m pretty good”, Fultz wrote. “@Tissot.us is helping me get started with my (team name) watch”, Fultz posted, not bothering to actually fill in the blanks.
With the drafting of Fultz in the 2017 NBA Draft, the Sixers now appear to have the core together that will make the past few seasons of losing worth it. Joel Embiid played in 31 games – posting almost All-Star caliber stats – but was eventually shut down after a knee injury and more surgery ended his campaign for Rookie of the Year. In fact, Collins dropped 14 points while grabbing 13 rebounds, hitting some clutch three pointers to head back to the national championship for the Zags.
We’re up to five freshmen and counting at the National Basketball Association draft.
This was one of the youngest drafts in league history as a record 16 freshmen – or first year American college players – were selected in the first round. But if you are patient and would like to hunt to value right now, I got you covered. Something that has a chance to experience annual success, not to be something that’s gimmicky or tricky.
“That’s definitely something I want to do”, he said. Simmons seemed excited at his shot to run the show until a confluence of events and a trade with Boston for the No. 1 pick that netted Fultz. “It’s a fun group”. He told a radio station in Washington that Seattle would be the “best place ever” if he could find one closer.
Shooting guard Timothe Luwawu-Cabarrot will be one of the headliners of the Sixers summer-league team.
The Philadelphia 76ers, as expected, started the draft by nabbing Washington’s Markelle Fultz. “To set our sights on that being a reality is very ambitious”.
The 6-4 Fultz was the team’s target all along, which is why the Sixers sent the No. 3 pick and a future No. 1 selection to Boston to secure the overall No. 1 pick. But by not trading Kristaps Porzingis, as many thought they might, this is a win for the Knicks. He’s ready to make results happen.
Put simply, the Philadelphia 76ers are loaded with talent.
