Skype for Business for iOS and Android unveiled by Microsoft
We have seen Nadella’s vision come to life with the development of Microsoft Office for iOS and Android phones, the launch of Office 2016 for Mac, and productivity apps for Apple Watch and Android Wear. As such, a number of features like your syncing of your work contacts, your meeting itinerary and so on, are all integrated into the new Skype for Business service.
If you already have Microsoft Lync 2013 on your iOS or Android device and you’ll automatically get the new Skype for Business app as an update later in the year. If users want to switch between text and video, it will be a lot easier than before, as users will now have the option to see both of them simultaneously on screen. The Skype for Business, which is a replacement for Lync, had its communication platform upgraded by Microsoft. Here’s a list of new features along with instructions on how you and your company can join the beta test. The iOS app includes regular phone contacts in the query. Up to 250 people could be included into the video conference through Skype.
Until Friday, you can register to try out the preview. The recent conversations feature, as the name suggests, allows users to peruse their most recent chats, phone calls and meetings. Nevertheless, the company explained that not everyone would be accepted since the preview is a pre-release program.
As well as making it easy to navigate contacts, calls and meetings, and updated the In-Call and In-Meeting experience. Once enrolled, IT admins can nominate up to four end users for preview access on iOS and Android devices each.
Just in case you’re hearing about Skype for Business for the first time, this is essentially a rebranded version of Lync 2013, which for those unfamiliar is an instant messaging tool designed for the enterprise.
