Slaven Bilic moving West Ham training as injuries pile up
New Zealand centre-back Reid is due to undergo a scan on Friday to determine how long he will be sidelined for after injuring himself in training.
“It doesn’t look good”, said Hammers boss Slaven Bilic. You look at the players they have left and they’re still a very good team.
He was injured during a training session on Wednesday (December 9) as the top 10 team prepare for a tough examination from red-hot Stoke on Saturday (December 12).
Moses, on loan from Chelsea to West Ham, pulled up in the game at Old Trafford against Manchester United, and was replaced by Spanish midfielder, Pedro Obiang, just 37 minutes into the Barclays Premier League match last weekend.
“We are now missing six very important players, but we can’t complain”. Striker Enner Valencia has been out for five weeks with an ankle complaint, but could return against Stoke City on Saturday.
The West Ham United fans in The Transfer Tavern are delighted that the club are interested in bringing a new forward, but are hopeful the club won’t pay over the odds should a bidding war commence.
“We’re going to move on Monday”.
“The Chadwell Heath pitches are soft on top but hard underneath, which is the worst combination”, said Bilic. So I have made the decision to go to Rush Green where the pitches are better.
They’re also facing the prospect of losing winger Victor Moses as they wait on the results of a scan on a potential hamstring issue, while their current player of the season Dimitri Payet is expected to be out until well into the new year.
Winston Reid could have added to West Ham’s injury woes after reportedly suffering a hamstring injury in training. “I am optimistic that we will manage”.
