Sleigh Bells sued Demi Lovato for copyright infringement
The group claims that their track title “Stars” is similar to their song “Infinity Guitars”. “Indeed, they failed to even notify Sleigh Bells that they meant to exploit Sleigh Bells material to create a Demi Lovato song”.
When Demi Lovato’s album Confident came out previous year, Sleigh Bells accused the pop singer of sampling their songs “Infinity Guitars” and “Riot Rhythm” on the bonus track “Stars”. Do you think their similarities warrant a lawsuit?

“The sonic qualities of portions of “Infinity Guitars” and “Stars” are at least substantially similar”, the complaint reads.
Miller and Krauss are the guitarist and singer of Sleigh Bells and claim to have written “Infinity Guitars” as part of the debut album “Treats”, released in 2010.
At the time, the song’s producers – Falk and Yacoub – released a statement to Billboard, denying they’d sampled Sleigh Bells. The lawsuit adds that the two songs are “virtually identical content” and that they surpass the reason of coincidence. Sleigh Bells first accused the former Disney starlet of swiping their tunes previous year after Lovato’s song was released, but didn’t file the lawsuit until now.
