Slimani seals huge Leicester move
Leicester have had a £25m bid for Islam Slimani turned down by Sporting Lisbon, according to Sky sources.
Sporting have been asking for 40million euros – around £34million – for Slimani and while the Premier League champions will not be held to ransom a deal is likely to be struck.
They have handed Slimani, who will team up with his worldwide team-mate Riyad Mahrez at the King Power Stadium, a five-year deal.
However, Sporting have responded with a statement on their official website, saying they expect Silva to honour the new contract he signed this year and finish his career at the club.
Ulloa – Leicester’s club record £8m signing when he joined two years ago – was already struggling for game time last season.
It is believed the Premier League champions have agreed a fee of £29m for the player. “That’s something that I’m so excited to be a part of”. “I will give absolutely everything I have on the pitch for them and for my teammates and I hope that together we can achieve something special”.
He will now leave Algeria’s training camp as they prepare for their Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Lesotho to sign for Leicester.
Meanwhile, Gokhan Inler has left Leicester to join Besiktas on a three-year deal.
The European championship winning midfielder had stated earlier in the week that he wishes to move to Leicester City in an interview with Portuguese newspaper O Jogo, He said: “Yes, I confirm this proposal”.
