Slipknot’s Corey Taylor will feature in an upcoming episode of ‘Doctor Who’
Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor will be giving ‘Doctor Who’ viewers a fright soon, as he provides the scream for villain, the Fisher King.
Stalwart heavy-rock flag-bearer and accomplished growler Corey Taylor has harnessed his talent for guttural noises to record lines – erm, sort of – for BBC sci-fi institution Doctor Who, on which his “deep and terrifying roar” will feature this weekend.
Taylor tweeted that people would have “NO idea how hard it’s been to keep this awesome secret”.
Taylor, who is apparently a massive Whovian himself, was contacted by the show’s production staff after they learned of his love for the series. “He agreed instantly and was made up about it”.
“Game Of Thrones” actress Maisie Williams will be putting in an appearance later in the series, in an as-of-yet undisclosed role, while Peter Capaldi’s former “The Thick Of It” co-star Rebecca Front also has a guest part.
Meanwhile, Jenna Coleman confirmed she was leaving Doctor Who on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show with Nick Grimshaw earlier this month.
Fisher King, described as a green hulk of a creature with horns protruding from his body, appears in the next episode Under The Lake, which will appear on our screens on October 3.
