Smith: Romo isn’t under pressure in return
Romo, who will return to action on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins after fracturing his left collarbone in Week 2, has watched from the sideline as his team was defeated in seven straight games in his absence.
One of the biggest challenges that Dallas Cowboys star quarterback Tony Romo will face in returning from his broken left collarbone is the schedule.
Despite losing seven games in a row, Romo seems very confident that the Cowboys can pull off the impossible and make the playoffs by still winning the NFC East. They are now 2.5 games behind the NY Giants who are on a bye this week.
Spagnola said, “Well I think what everybody should expect, what I think the Cowboys are expecting, the coaching staff, Tony is expecting is they win one game”.
Now, the Cowboys only back-up is Cassel who hasn’t won a game as the starter either which is why the Cowboys are eager to bring back Romo. A win against the Cowboys will put the Dolphins at 5-5, which would be huge after starting the season 1-3 and firing head coach Joe Philbin.
“I want everyone to know we are not done yet”, Romo said Wednesday of the tweet, which has been retweeted more than 30,000 times. “There’s a lot of things that we haven’t done to allow us to win”. They did turn out to be quite good at run blocking, and despite the loss of Joseph Randle as his on and off field issues piled up, the team has done well with Darren McFadden as the workhorse running back. While no team has went on to earn a playoff berth with a 2-7 record, the Cowboys do have a chance.
Last week at Philadelphia, Suh had his best game since signing a $114 million, six-year contract with Miami.
They’re only two games out. I sure don’t think they’re too far-fetched by any means. Unfortunately for Dallas, though, is the Indians never had Greg Hardy to deal with.
The Dolphins are projected to win this game at home as the Cowboys continue to find answers to their disappointing season. With Romo back, the defense doesn’t have to worry about trying to play a ideal game. The fact that Weeden is being released indicates that Romo is fully healthy and will start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins, with Matt Cassell staying on as a backup. “But it’s fair to say there’s certain things we do with Tony, and I’m sure that’s the case with these veteran players that have been playing for years and years”.
