Snake head reportedly found in canned green beans
A Farmington, Utah woman and an LDS Church Young Women’s group say they discovered the decapitated head of a snake in a can of Western Family green beans as they prepared dinner for elderly neighbors Wednesday night.
According to CBS in New York, Walker said at first, she thought it was just a burnt bean – then she saw eyes.
Walker told the reporter at the local TV station KSL she was spooning the green beans from a slow cooker when she spotted a bean that looked a little off.
She says she dropped the head and screamed.
Employees at the grocery store apologized and gave Walker a full refund on the 30 cans she had purchased.
“My biggest concern (was) that someone else would get the body.”
Pete Craven, Western Family chief financial officer, said they’re still looking into whether or not what Walker found was actually a snake head.
Western Family has promised that they will halt production and check out other green beans within that lot.
Since, all green bean cans from the store and others in the surrounding area have pulled from the shelves. “Foreign matter is not something we take lightly”. And when she picked it up and looked closer, she realized it wasn’t a green bean…it was a SEVERED SNAKE’S HEAD. “We want to know what it is, and we will immediately research and do any level of correction as we can”.
With a family dinner set for the weekend, she did need to make it clear that green beans will not be served. “We are not having green beans, ‘” Walker said with a laugh.
