Snapchat makes it much easier to find, add friends
Snapchat is a pretty interesting social media app, it’s been around for a few years now and has been adding all sorts of new features.
An update to the Snapchat app adds profile URLs.
For the most part, Snapchat is incredibly simple to use.
You can now add new friends by sharing your URL from the “Add Friends” menu by selecting the new “share username” option. The special link to add others effectively just adds the user’s handle in front of a generic URL (for example, my link is www.snapchat.com/add/saadnc). When your friend taps on this link it will automatically tell Snapchat to add you as a new friend. When tapped, the prompt you to open the Snapchat app to see the profile that’s linked.
These new links for adding others are only available in the newest version of Snapchat, so make sure you update your version of the App in the Google Play Store.
If you’re already anxious that Snapchat is too distracting, things aren’t going to change any time soon… The URL can be shared on Twitter bios and can be particularly handy for photographers. It also lets people type in a username, find people in their address book, add by a little snapcode image or find people that are nearby. The feature, however, was not as easy for users new to Snapchat. Now they’ve simplified that process to a shareable link. Making it much easier than just sharing your Snap Code.
