Snapchat’s birthday present to you is a new filter

The lens you get will be adjusted based on whether it’s your own birthday or that of a friend.

So, if you are a Snapchat user, and if it is your birthday, you can get an access to exclusive birthday lens feature and apply it on your snaps to make your friends aware of your special day. Found in the new Birthday Party feature is a couple special birthday-centric lenses you’ll be able to unlock, something that will also be available on your Snapchat friends’ birthdays. The company has been making it to the news quite frequently in recent years, and they have now been working on releasing better and more profitable ways to gain more from the app which is becoming a thundering success with every passing day.

The two separate birthday lenses will be unlocked depending on whose birthday it is. A colorful and bubbly font will spell out “Happy Birthday” at the bottom of the screen, while the rest of the lens will be covered with confetti, allowing you to overlay your selfies with this birthday-themed feature. One lens will appear on the eve of your birthday while another lens is for the objective of friend’s birthday.

Tuesday’s update also added a small change to the app’s time filter.

This comes just one day after the company announced that the Snapchat Geofilters are going on sale for everyone, and the pricing begins as low as $5.

Interestingly, in the last 24 hours, Snapchat has now become the second company to work towards making birthdays special, as Facebook, too came out with a similar method as they introduced the Facebook Birthday cam for iOS Devices.
