Snow and wind this afternoon, evening… into Tuesday
A winter weather advisory means periods of snow will cause travel difficulties, and cautions drivers to be prepared for slippery roads and reduced visibility.
Maryland State Highway Administration spokesman David Buck says crews were out pretreating roads on Sunday ahead of the storm that is set to arrive late Monday. There will also be a little additional snow on Tuesday as another disturbance moves in, but this will be of limited importance compared to Monday. “Low’s Tuesday night will be in the mid teens”, Silverman said.
Schoettmer said Louisville should expect 1 to 2 inches of snow to accumulate through Tuesday afternoon, starting with snow showers on and off during the evening commute Monday.
As the low pressure builds in the Atlantic, sending snow into New England, a second wave will come across the Ohio Valley into the Mid-Atlantic states, with its heaviest impacts occurring in areas of Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia that are away from major cities. Clouds will increase this evening into tonight with lows in the 20s and 30s overnight.

Even in a worst-case scenario, meteorologists say we’d see no more than 6 inches of snow – or some 26 inches less than the storm that hit the area two weeks ago.
Amounts: With a big “fluff factor” because it will be a light and fluffy snow consistency – the totals will be 5 to 8 inches along the coast inland to about the I95 corridor, and for much of York County and Downeast. The development of this system will enhance snow accumulations in the warning area.
Burns said we won’t see any of that for the Atlanta metro in the morning Tuesday, but that could change by the afternoon.
For snow lovers in Madison, any snow we get Monday and Tuesday most likely won’t melt for awhile.
