Snow. Is Richland County Ready For This Wicked Weather?
The blizzard is expected to hit beginning this morning, with severe winter storm conditions on either side and another area of blizzard around Massena in St. Lawrence County.
A blizzard warning covers all but the southeastern corner of CT, which is expected to see the lowest snowfall – a still hefty 10 to 15 inches. Snow will taper off early Wednesday.
A winter weather advisory has been issued for about the northern half of the state today and tonight. “It’s hard to pinpoint where the bands will be because they’re typically pretty narrow, but light snow should persist at least through the evening if not into the morning”.

Izzi said this will be the first time Chicago has recorded at least one inch of snow since December 17, 2016, marking the city’s longest streak without snow ever recorded during the winter. That should help keep conditions manageable until the weekend, when temperatures are likely to climb above freezing.
However, Buttrick said Tuesday’s has the potential to set a record. Some areas of Metropolitan New York, depending on the borough, may still receive over two feet of snow if snow continues to fall within one to four inches per hour.
Buttrick added she did not have a lot of confidence in the weekend storm, but said it’s important to stay tuned as predictions could change.
The warning, which began at 7 this morning, lasts until 11 a.m. Wednesday. At Baltimore Washington International Airport, there were more than 200 flights were called off.
