Socks to pause Netflix when you sleep
Netflix has many users addicted to watching shows late night and falling asleep while binge watching, thus resulting in losing track the next day of what they watched last night.
So how do the socks work?
Fortunately Netflix has a cheeky solution to your problems: “Netflix socks”. It’s called Netflix Socks, and it involves the creation of a pair of foot-warmers that also alert you when you fall asleep. This includes an accelerometer (to detect when feet have stopped moving), IR LEDs (to send a signal to the television) and a battery, among other components.
We don’t think we’ve been this excited and intrigued by an attempt to be convenient since the Dominos pizza ordering button; Netflix has created smart socks that can detect when you’ve fallen asleep and pause your show for you to make sure you don’t miss anything. Before activating the pause button, the socks give a warning – in the form of the cuff glowing.
For people who already know how to knit, the knitting process for the socks will not be too hard.
Intrigued? Netflix has the necessary parts detailed online, as well as step-by-step knitting instructions for socks themed after some of its original programs, like Marvel’s Jessica Jones, House of Cards, and The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt.
Peace of mind while you’re binge-watching Netflix might be the best Christmas present we could ask for. In order to get everything to work smoothly, users will also need to do a little soldering and computer programming.
