Sofia Vergara to appear in ‘The Simpsons’

It looks like Bart Simpson may be paying more attention in school now that he has a new teacher in the form of Sofia Vergara if this picture on Twitter is anything to go by!

Aside from the attention of Bart, Mrs. Berrera will also capture the eye of Principal Skinner voiced by Harry Shearer. “We have a situation where Bart doesn’t have a regular teacher”, he says, in reference to Mrs. Krabappel’s death, “so she may or may not come back”. She feels Skinner is a wounded soul that she wants to take care of.

The entertainment magazine reported that Vergara will be playing the attractive Mrs. Berrera in an episode in which Bart drinks a milk substitute that puts him in early puberty and makes him fall in love with his teacher. Marcia Wallace, who voiced the teacher starting in 1990, passed away in 2013, and the character was retired in 2014.

According to TheWrap, Vergara’s character will star in upcoming episode “Teenage Mutant Milk-Caused Hurdles“.

The next season of “The Simpsons” will premiere on Sunday, September 27 on Fox.

Vergara now stars on ABC’s Modern Family. The reveal was met with angry reactions from fans, prompting the EP to backtrack from his statement, which he said was “correct/was completely misinterpreted”.
