Cheryl Silvonek had forbidden her daughter from dating Barnes, a soldier who was 20 years old at the time.
The jury began deliberations late Friday afternoon.
Barnes, now 21, has blamed Jamie Silvonek for Cheryl Silvonek’s murder.
Barnes and Silvonek were charged with murdering Cheryl L. Silvonek, 54, the girl’s mother, when she tried to break up their romantic relationship on March 15, 2015.Silvonek avoided a life sentence by pleading guilty and receiving a prison term of at least 35 years.
Investigator also said they recovered deleted text messages between Silvonek and Barnes, in which the teen plotted her mother’s killing, including one message that read: ‘I want her gone’.

She told the court Friday she was “in love” with the 22-year-old Barnes.
Silvonek is now serving 35 years to life for her role in the stabbing death of her mother, Cheryl Silvonek, 54, in Allentown, Pennsylvania, in March 2015.
Barnes said he had fallen asleep in his Camaro parked outside the Silvoneks’ house before heading back to Fort Meade in Maryland, where he was based.
The Morning Call of Allentown reports Barnes, a former army specialist, testified he was asleep in his vehicle when Silvonek killed her mother.
