Some Black Friday Deals Are Not Deals
Black Friday is hectic, but with a little bit of planning you can save a ton of money without losing your mind.

With Christmas a little over a month away, it’s time to begin preparation for Black Friday, the annual day of sales to kick off the holiday shopping season.
There are a ton of Black Friday deals to go through if you haven’t already, and there are all sorts of things that will be on sale come Friday.
The countdown to Thanksgiving is on, and so is the countdown to all the holiday bargains soon follow. Now you can find deals and doorbusters all week long, both in store and online. But when they use the “Cheap Stuff!” card day after day and week after week, the deals on any single day stop seeming special. And so it has become more convenient to, say, shop from grandma’s living room on Thanksgiving Day or from the airport waiting area on Black Friday than waiting for Cyber Monday to roll around. This helps to save time and avoid missing the online and in-store deals.
In fact, foot traffic to these stores scales twice as high on Black Friday compared with other weekends during the holiday season, and traffic for cell phone stores it is 1.6 times as high.
Some retailers such as REI and Costco are taking a stand and remaining closed on Thanksgiving Day.
The retailer has traditionally started cyber sales on the Monday after Thanksgiving. It should be noted that some of the best deals can be sold out by Cyber Monday.
It seems like Black Friday shopping gets bigger and bigger with stores opening earlier and earlier each year.
“Although numerous deals will be available online, the best of the best, of course in limited quantities is going to be in the stores themselves”, Gonzalez said.
Pope said the change in shopping habits is largely due to more and more people doing their shopping online.

While Cyber Monday traditionally begins early on Monday – as one would expect – the United States retail giant plans to capitalize on Internet search trends to squeeze additional profit out of the shopping weekend.
