Some Jerk Punched A 78-Year-Old Man Over Costco Nutella Samples
A man in California was charged after police said he punched an elderly Costco shopper who confronted him about taking too many Nutella waffle samples.
Derrick Gharabighi, a 24-year-old Burbank resident, was charged with elder abuse with the special circumstance of inflicting great bodily harm, according to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office.
The incident apparently unfolded when the victim told another shopper to take just one Eggo waffle with Nutella from the sample cart. Police said the man told Gharabighi not to take so numerous free samples, because he wanted one. If Gharabighi is convicted, he faces up to 11 years in state prison. He remains in custody and is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Gharabighi is accused of punching the older man in the face.
