In a straightforward acceptance speech, Larson thanked many, including festivals who first showed the film, director Lenny Abrahamson, her youthful co-star, Jacob Tremblay, her boyfriend Alex Greenwald of the band Phantom Planet, and moviegoers who went to see the film.

“I know what you’re thinking: Did you discuss it beforehand or was it last-minute?” says her hairstylist Robert Vetica, who used the Olivia Garden Cara Shears to make the chop. The interest in Blanchett’s red carpet looks is understandable. We thought it would be flawless because of the dress. “And she’s had her hair long for a couple years now, so we decided, let’s just cut it off and start fresh”, he said.

The Aussie beauty wowed in a seafoam Armani Prive gown. The sleeveless show-stopping gown featured floral embellishments in soft feathers and crystals, as well as a plunging neckline and flowing train.

Cate worked the camera from every angle, flashing her pearly whites to onlookers, before she made her way into the ceremony to watch the winners receive their prizes. The Room actress gave a surprised reaction while touching Kate’s tummy, while Cate looked on in excitement as well.

She chose a handsome gown from the label at Oscars 2014, where she had picked up the best actress trophy for her role in “Blue Jasmine”.
