Some ticket counters closed at Denver airport
Access to Denver International Airport has been reopened after a police bomb squad checked and cleared a suspicious package.
The ticket counters for American and Alaska airlines were also affected by the closure.
Passengers were told to use the east side passenger drop-off area until the west side Level 6 area was reopened.
The bomb squad has been called in to examine a suspicious item found Thursday morning at Denver International Airport where a ramp for departing passengers is closed.
Police and the FBI are investigating.
Airport spokesman Heath Montgomery says Flight 1243 landed safely and passengers were taken off the plane by buses while the plane was searched.
Mr Montgomery said airport officials are working to set up alternative check-in arrangement for those passengers.
United Airlines flight from New Jersey to San Diego was diverted to Denver International Airport Wednesday night over an unspecified “security concern”, according to a DIA spokesman.
