Sonia and Rahul Gandhi are on same page as common citizens: BJP
According to CNN-IBN, the Congress top brass has decided that the party president Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi will not move the Supreme Court, hence will appear before the Delhi High Court.
Slamming the Congress for disrupting Parliament to cover up its corruption, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday said it has nothing to do with the National Herald case. “You will see a series of such protests throughout the country because the people will stand by the Congress as they know whatever BJP is doing is political vendetta”, said Shobha Oza, Mahila Congress president.
Gandhi told reporters after a meeting of the strategy committee of Congress party in Parliament.
However, the Lower House functioned, notwithstanding the continuous shouting of slogans by Congress members before it was also forced to be adjourned for the day about an hour before schedule. While Kharge alleged that government is indulging in vendetta politics, Naidu accused the Congress of threatening judiciary through Parliament.
The continuing protests are stalling the Goods and Service Taxes Bill, which the Centre was hoping to pass during the winter session. “The same questions I am asking the Prime Minister (Modi) or the government, I am going to continue asking them”, he said.
Subramanian Swamy in a Press conference held on November 1, 2012 raised several questions concerning National Herald Case and the Congress Party. “Sonia Gandhi is not Indira Gandhi…” he said. Congress Party lawmakers stalled parliament proceedings, alleging “persecution” of their leaders.
Denying Congress charge of political vendetta in the case, the minister said calling it so was tantamount to a charge against the courts.
Meanwhile, a local court on Tuesday gave the Gandhis and four other accused exemption from personal appearance on Tuesday but asked them to be present on December 19 when the case will be heard.
Naqvi accused the Congress of posing as a barrier in the country’s development with its repeated chaos in the Parliament over this issue. Rahul Gandhi rejected charges of wrongdoing and alleged a “political vendetta”. We respect the court order and they will appear before a Delhi court on December 19.
The Congress government had earlier attacked the ruling BJP government and PMO for carrying out political vendetta in the case.
Later, in Chennai, Rahul dared the government to do “whatever they want to do” but he would not back off an inch.
