Sonika Vaid sings ‘Look At Me’ on American Idol Season 15 Auditions

With American Idol always a major part of Reilly’s previous TCA executive sessions as chairman of Fox, he was asked about the decision to end the long-running reality series, which kicked off its final season last night.

It’s time for some rock with Dalton Rapattoni, a vocal coach and after-school music mentor. You could see her voicing a Disney princess in an animated classic. “Even though Alex didn’t make it through the first round, she is very supportive and we’re very both very blessed to share our gifts”.

La’Porsha Renae’s audition is the next sneak peek. Singing and praying helped her out of that dark place. “I just feel great things are going to happen”.

The teenager and her family headed south. Her parents Larry and Andrea let her know she didn’t have to audition if she changed her mind along the way, but that didn’t happen. Yep, they were all thoroughly impressed with LaPorsha Renae and hand over her Golden Ticket.

Lindita, a 26-year-old personal trainer, originally from Kosovo, who had lost 150 pounds to prepare for her audition and who collected a golden ticket with a showy, run-heavy take on “It’s A Man’s Man’s Man’s World” by James Brown. Jen is terrified and refuses to touch the chicken as Keith holds it – so amusing.

“She sings like a big girl, though”, Lopez laughs.

Trent Harmon, 24, is also from a 400-acre farm in Mississippi.

“Live on this stage, an unknown talent will be launched into superstardom, ” said Brian Dunkleman.

He performed “Unaware” by soul singer Allen Stone, and that performance earned raves from every judge. Is he pop? Either way, he’s fantastic – and Jennifer finds him surprising and is blown away. Connick said it was his favorite audition since they started.

At least two local women have made it to the Hollywood round on “American Idol”. Olivia Rox is 16 and clearly enamored at being in front of the judges for the first time.
