Sonos Introduces the Limited Edition PLAY:1 Tone Speaker
Not content with simply applying this look and feel to the speaker itself, Sonos has also applied it to the packaging, so you’ll know right away what awaits you inside.
Although the physical design doesn’t change, the Play:1 Tone, as is it to be known, features a soft touch coating that makes you want to keep stroking it and a single colour palette of either black or white.
Audio company Sonos has just introduced a new limited edition version of its smallest speaker called the Play:1 Tone. Part of how we do that is by focusing on simple things with innate power.
The Play:1 Tone will be available 10am PT / 1pm ET starting July 21st. Sonos will release the speaker on July 21st exclusively through their online store, with only 5,000 of each color available worldwide. “It’s a meditation on essentials”. Both speakers ditch the grey grill that typically adorns the front of the Play:1 for a matte finish, which is a nice aesthetic upgrade for the two-tone speakers we’re used to seeing from Sonos.
Back in the fall of 2013, home audio company Sonos introduced the PLAY:1 wireless speaker.
As a speaker, the Tone connects with over 60 different streaming music services, and is controllable via smartphone/tablet apps or from a Mac/PC. That’s $50 more than the regular model.
