Sony Offering PS Now 12 Month Subscriptions For $99.99
Sony is offering a new PlayStation Now 12-month subscription for $100. That’s less than $9 a month for access to hundreds of PlayStation 3 games with a batch of new games added every month. To try to convince those still on the fence, Sony also announced that a collection of new games from Warner Bros. It comes in at 44.5% price reduction to the next cheapest plan of three months for $45.
Averaging out to a little more than $8 a month, PS Now is starting, at least in terms of cost, to more closely resemble other popular media streaming services.
Never mind that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are both becoming specks in the rear view mirror, the deals, they just keep coming. Interactive Entertainment is launching a handful of new games on PlayStation Now this week, including the existing Batman: Arkham City, new Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham Origins, Injustice: Gods Among Us, Mortal Kombat, and F.E.A.R. (single-player campaign mode). Sony adds that the annual subscription is a limited-time offer, but didn’t state when the offer would expire. Gamers also need a DualShock controller and a 5Mbps or better broadband connection.
Playstation Now is a cloud gaming service that allow users to pay for access to games on a subscription basis or a per-game basis.
In a PlayStation Blog post, Sony notes that this represents savings of more than 55 percent compared to if you renewed at the regular one-month rate.
