Sony Xperia Z5 Compact issues: Sony announces remedy for device’s touchscreen
One of the reported issues that the white Sony Xperia Z5 Compact allegedly has is the repeated input of a letter even if it was pressed only once.
Sony doesn’t do a mini version of its flagship smartphone every time but it has once again with the Xperia Z5 range, as unveiled at IFA 2015.
After analyzing the returned units, Sony have discovered the cause of the problem and promised to release a new software to solve the issue.
Sony Xperia Z5 Premium Dual price in India is Rs. 62,990. And As Xperia Blog specified, it will be available starting Monday, October 26.
Furthermore, it will also roll out through various retail partners.
As well as the processor staying the same compared to the flagship model, the 23Mp camera is also a key feature of the Z5 Compact which is the first new module since the Xperia Z1 (excuse the pre-production XXMp etc in the photo below). The Xperia Z5 Compact and the regular Xperia Z5 (single-SIM) appear with the label “Stock is not in local warehouse”, but they’re still available for purchase for $549.99 and $649.99, respectively.
With a few design and hardware changes, there’s little to say about the software on the Z5 Compact which comes pre-loaded with Android 5.1 Lollipop.
Camera features include Digital zoom, Digital image stabilization, Geotagging, Autofocus, smile detection and more. While the device notified that “the camera will shut if its temperature rises”, as it used to with earlier Xperia devices too, to my surprise the new smartphone could keep its cool even after shooting a 4K video for nearly 10 minutes. Many tech enthusiast questioned the need of 4K display on a smartphone or have explained how it makes very little sense on a 5.5-inch panel. The screen resolution is 720p by 1280p. Its unibody is IP68 certified to protect itself from dust and water submersion. It sports a 64-bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 (MSM8994); Adreno 430 GPU.
Sony’s best camera phone, the Xperia Z5, and it has been the talk of the town lately when the Japanese conglomerate made their latest flagship official. It features 32GB of internal storage, and it can accommodate up to 200GB more via microSD card slot.
Keeping things up and running is a 2,900 mAh battery that should deliver a long-lasting performance thanks to Sony’s power-saving technology and battery stamina.
