Sony Xperia Z6 rumor: New flagship to come in 5 sizes?
The Xperia Z6 Mini is expected to cater to those who still prefer a small handset as it is anticipated to come with a 4-inch display screen. Sony settled at that number for the Xperia Z2 (effectively the third-gen flagship after the Xperia Z and Z1) and appears to be considering that as the sweet spot.
If rumors are to be believed, Sony Mobile will be changing its outlook for its 2016 smartphone flagships as speculations float online that the upcoming Xperia Z6 will at least have five iterations.
According to the news, the Xperia Z6 will get a 5.2-inch display, while there will be a Z6 Compact too with a 4.6-inch screen. The other four versions, on the other hand, have been speculated to integrate the new Snapdragon 820 chipset.
This year when the Xperia Z5 was released, all attention was focused on the Premium edition which came with a 5.5 inch 4K display.
A few days ago we informed readers about rumored variants for the Sony Xperia Z6.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow is the latest big software update for Android powered devices.
An iPhone 6s-like 3D Touch screen is also apparently on the cards, which will allow the Z6’s screen to respond to different pressure levels. The company has already sent out press invites for its January 5 press conference at CES 2016.
Now that the build has been confirmed to be ready for Sony Xperia Z3 devices, it is safe to assume that it will be released somewhere after Christmas this year, according to Latinos Post. Launching of new Xperia flagship will only result in the killing the sales of Xperia Z5 smartphones. Sony is yet to announce the official release date of the Android Marshmallow OTA for Xperia Z3. The latest Sony smartphone, Xperia Z5, came with three distinct devices: Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium with the new 4K display (when necessary).
